At the highest point of Baena's Moorish quarter, beside the Arco de Consolación, with the Sierras Subbéticas opening up beyond.

In the heart of Baena's Almedina, beside one of its gateways — the Arco de Consolación — this two-storey house has been decorated with great care, taking its Moorish origins as inspiration.
Here you will find calm and quiet, and magnificent views of the Sierras Subbéticas. An oasis in the middle of the old town.
Welcome: we want you to feel at home in our house.

The Almedina — "the city proper", in Arabic — grew naturally out of the hisn, the castle raised by the founders of Baena. It is the highest part of town: streets and corners that still evoke the most typical Moorish building.
This quarter holds Baena's most important monuments: the Church of Santa María la Mayor, the Convent of Madre de Dios and the remains of the castle. There is no reliable record of when the walls were built, but the bent entrances of the Arco de Consolación and the Arco Oscuro appear to be Almoravid and Almohad work.
Baena sits in the heart of the Córdoba countryside, among olive groves and at the gates of the Sierras Subbéticas, where there is good walking.

Write to us and we will tell you about availability, prices and anything you would like to know about the house or about Baena.
